M. Benjamin Murphey
 

Ben Murphey was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1971.  Before college, he served in the U.S. Army Infantry where he earned his airborne wings, and had the honor of serving as a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Ben earned his A.A. summa cum laude from Miami-Dade Community College in 1999 and his B.A. from Florida International University magna cum laude, in 2002, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.  In 2006, Ben earned his J.D. cum laude from Nova Southeastern University, where he was an articles editor for the Law Review and served on the executive board of the Moot Court.

Ben is admitted to practice before all Florida Courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  He is a member of the Appellate Practice, Trial Lawyers, Young Lawyers, and Labor & Employment sections of the Florida Bar.  Ben is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Broward County Justice Association, the Broward Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Florida Admiralty Trial Lawyers Association.

Ben has represented clients before Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, the Social Security Administration Office of Hearings and Appeals, the United States Department of Labor, Florida’s Division of Administrative Hearings, the EEOC, and numerous state and federal courts.

Ben's practice focuses on the areas of general and maritime personal injury, civil appeals, and labor disputes.
